... an Army background, this job is suitable for me. No more burden during the job. All crew member cooperates the Security Team and there is well packaged salary, free air tickets for journey. Work environment is good and balance of work life is good.

Dislikes

... to get alert everytime. Sometime we have to balance as deficiency of man power. Sometime We get salary late from our company. It's very uncomfortable to do this job initially becoz it takes time to manage ourselves. There is no more time for training and no work life balabce as much as Army.

Likes

First of all, i love to travel. And this job gives me liberty to i travel the globe around. Second, where you are working you should not feel trapped. I am soo happy when i go on deck & steer the ship. These things make me like this job.

Dislikes

...fficult for a person to stay away from a family for a six or nine months period. But if you want to gain something you have to pay something. So i don't think this is any kind of disliking.

Merchant Navy is one of the toughest and difficult jobs. One has to be much stronger physically and mentaly as one has to spend his/ her maximum life in sea,away from home.

If we talk about job security then we don't have to worry about it because it's safe. We have to work as a team onboard, Which makes work easy for everyone. Always work smart instead of doing work hard. And yes safety first 😉

Medical facilities isn't available in other countries for us..which i think is a major drawback in merchant Navy.

I mostly like in Merchant Navy that along with our job and duties we get chance to mingle with lots of people from different different parts of the country. Get chance understand different types of problems and solution for that problem From different mind. All members on ship are away from their family members still they always think about their family and share there feelings among ourselves. We also get chance to visit beautiful places and learn different cultures and languages. So according to me my life is very beautiful because after all those difficult situations we handle and comes out of that and when we go home we enjoy with our families and friends with lots of free time. Which a common man can’t do as they have to go for some work or job after some days but we can enjoy for long days and month.

Dislikes

The only things I dislike is the rough weather.
