very qualified & competent people (Indian) been working in Marubeni India for 15 - 20 years still remain at the level of asst. manager, Dy. manager max position in entire life cycle Indian can reach upto the level of Dy General Manager (very few people at this level) reason for General Manager Post are only for Japanese national most of whom are very incompetent both in terms of qualification and expertise. These GM'S are sent on deputation for 3-4 years assignment in India who has zero knowledge on products they head as GM or the any marketing or sales skill. Marubeni do not have any appraisal systems end of the financial year they call employee in their department and just says verbally that you did not do this & that and the review is over & these GM then declare the increment etc. Marubeni does not have even a shade of professional culture and all rules are only for Indian staff. My role is that of consultant as such I am not employee therefore, I did not face this problem hence, issues I have mentioned above is what I have seen & experienced how they behave & deal with Indian employee (Marubeni Japanese GM & CMD call Indian employee as Indian staff I don't recommend any young people to work for Marubeni as their career will be ruined as there is no culture or professionalism neither they provide carrier growth or training etc. Most Japanese company I have dealt with are far more professional & well managed and care for their employee irrespective of nationality unfortunately not with Marubeni.
