Likes

Tons of opportunities for those willing to relocate. Depending on the site there are solid management teams.

Dislikes

Worker retention is low causing those left to have to do additional job tasks and leading to a very poor work life balance. Pay is not competitive with oil and gas, tech or renewables which is causing the work retention issue and making it very difficult to recruit new talent.

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?
