1)i work as service engineer,so i like the learning in field, solving complaints related to the diesel engines, service, maintainance of generators, troubleshooting etc. 2)Among the service engineers there is good understanding and bonding which i like, and a service engineer/technician will always have your back when your stuck of field issues which cant be solved a engineer will come to ur help most times than not.Since he too has gone through that pain of getting stuck on field issues,so someone will definately will come forward to help you. 3)As it's a field job as a service engineer, time is flexible depends on how many sites u attend in a day, somedays it can be late and somedays u finish early, but if service advisor(person who assigns site) is flexible with you than definately u can adjust according to your requirements, somedays we may have some personal work that can be done with understanding with advisor and he assigning u a inspection visit and u can finish early. 4)if u like troubleshooting of diesel engines be it any application generators, marine, construction etc.if u have the passion for repairs and want to indulge urself in the troubleshooting process than this field is for you,bcz learning is immense in engine field not only mechanical, there is electrical learning of wiring diagram, tracing issues of wiring, controllers etc.so with passing time u learn a lot of things. 5)Communication can improve a lot as u meet variety of customers on field,so u would learn manipulating ur talks according to the situation,so communication improves a lot i was an introvert before joining this job but i know now how to talk to people.

Dislikes

1)salary is low in this field and increments don't happen on time, they take a lot of time for increments. 2)sometimes there is no understanding between service engineers/technicians and office staff, coordination would be missing which can frustrate you sometimes, bcz they working in office and don't understand ur field work pressure. So theres a gap which is always found. 3)Agreement or bond which the company has once u join this organisation,as they train u under Cummins so they make u sign an agreement of 3 yrs and take ur educational certificates and keep it with them, incase u want to leave in between or before 3 yrs,u need to pay them an X amount of ur training fees and training expenses and than can leave or resign. 4)physically taxing as it's working in field and in engines,so it's tough somedays depends on which field u are from mechanical or electrical, depends on ur respective field. 5)Not having engine parts or electrical parts on board and a delay in supply is also a big worry as troubleshooting can take days and days and once u receive the parts and finally u up the engine.

Dislikes

1)Salary 2)Very limited learning as u learn only about working in Cummins engines 3)growth or promotion to a higher post will be not achieved easily,as the salary they offer is low,so u would not want to take it the salary and responsibilities for that role is not matching at all.

Managers are not noticing our works and efforts in company growths. Managers were complaining/comparing each other to become highlight to their management. No one manager is taking care of employees who works under them. Less attention by management on employees (expect managers). There is no response for our complaints and suggestions. There is no value for our efficiency. Very bad experience I had.

Every month you will be getting salary on 15th or 16th only and food/petrol allowance also they will not give you properly, you have to wait for up to 2 or 3 months to get the money what you have spent for company/job needs. Growth is zero percent, yearly increment is 10%, that also their wish only sometimes they will not give you also... But constantly you have to give hard like a slave. People used to say this field is evergreen one and you will be getting jobs in abroad like anything, but nothing like that. I've tried nearly 2 years for getting an abroad job. This is my personal experience. Be aware of maniranjan....
