Madras Engineer Group informally known as Madras Sapper, is an engineers of the Indian Army. The Madras Sappers draw their origin from the erstwhile Madras Presidency Army of the British Raj. In order to join this group you must have a technical background. I love the fact that I am a part of the team that makes reliable high quality discipline.

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?
