Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

Likes

Skill development and learning was a plus point. There were many seniors willing to do KT. Also got ample opportunity for carrying out hands-on with various frameworks and tools.

Dislikes

The work culture is not ideal. Management was good initially but by the time I decided to leave, it was in ruins. There was a lot of office politics with favouritism in play. Logic was tossed when assigning responsibilities and positions of leadership. There were times when expectations ran high from employees and recognition was scarce.
