New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward

I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

1) They will try to act like a family , so initially till you understand office politics you will feel good. 2) Some client projects are good

Dislikes

1. Only people with reference get thier probation period completed on time, Employee without reference will have probation extended beyond 10-12 months 2. Promotions and hikes are dependent on how good your relations are with your manager and references 3. They try to calculate productivity by no of hours spend on a task, quality/ performance doesn't matter. 4. Internal projects have close to zero potential of learning and exploring. Even if you are a developer your knowledge in software development will be less than a manual tester ( if working on internal project ) 5. Office politics - ohhh goddd - why does every mid senior acts like he/she is superior than juniors.
