...e joined Sr. Sec. Engineer through out whole service remains as Sr.Sec.Engineer. Salary structure is bad.

pros 1.GOVT Job security 2.pay scale better than other organisation 3.free pass and PTO 4.medical allowance 5.Good railway quarters to live(depends upon ur grade pay)

there wont be any fixed promotion in your whole working tenure i.e(If u joined as SSE then its no doubt you will retired from same post )although salaries and grade pay will increase after MSCAP but post will remain same.However there are departmental exam for promotion in gazetted rank but probablity is very less

We are INDIAN RAILWAYS.....WE MOVE THE NATION.....best organization for work and work culture good , company policies very nice.

There is a lot of political unions and the management doesn't address our issues. Salary is decent but career growth is slow.

Scope of work not defined, despite being an engineer the works in which we are involved ar totally non core , contract work have been a great headache , have to deal with the unskilled and complacent kind of personnel, no work life balance due to 24 hours services, despite with huge responsibility we posses minimal powers , other department does not cordinate accordingly, always afraid of getting chargesheet or punishment even in small negligence, no career growth if directly recruited as sse, very less scope of switching jobs , establishment related issue does not get solved easily even in case of salary matters ,no facility of recreational activities,Babu's are the bosses even if he is lower in grade pay

As a Senior section engineer growth is very less. Job security is good. Salary and annual increments and other incentives are given in time.

There should be time bound permotion for senior section engineer
