Higher education policy is not good. Cannot retain the most talented ones because of very distant/remote area postings specially for doctors and no special incentives for working in rural areas.

...lance depends upon the individual employee how well s/he is capable to maintain. Salary is excellent. Growth is fast. Job security is wonderful except in cases of fraud / malpractices in which there is no excuse and the only punishment recommended for such nuisance is 'Removal from services'. Public servants are expected to be the most responsive, polite and polished citizens of the country. Railways reflects a good gesture of professionalism to the public.

Dislikes

Being a very large and complex organization, sometimes, most sincere and dedicated employees remain out of sight of the higher management. Their noble contributions and sacrifices, in terms of meritorious services and countless sleepless nights of hard work remain unrecognized. Still, they feel proud of doing something for their beloved nation.

...nd formulas for such thing. For General categories the chances are not so good. Salary - Good but not best. Appraisal- Appraisal is unbiased. Travel - During service one can avail free Passed as per his entitlement to any place across India in addition to PTOs. Politics- Some political influences are seen. However this is influenced as per one's will. It's better to have touch with some party and may seek their help for taking advantages in relation to delay in promotion etc. Learning- Maximum Learning is self Learning. However, sometimes training is given on computer and culturing Hindi. Work environment- is good and free from external influenced. One has to frame his own work discipline and follow the existing rules. Innovation- Yes, I have a very good experience in proposing for creating a new store unit by the concurrence of Senior Officers. Good and financially advantageous proposals are encouraged and implemented. Work life balance - I have managed the balance during my tenure. However, involving in extra places due to higher officers wish is also there. But it is up to the individual concerned. If you love working and wish to stay in limelight you are gone. So there is a need to expell the works that don't come in your responsibilities.

Dislikes

Teammates- Few people may dislike some work they are not familiar with or not trained properly for or for the reason of unreasonably lengthy. Feedback at lower levels are very poor. Training- No culture of training may be due to limited staffing or loss of sense of responsibility by counted numbers of staff. Job security is a boon for the lower rank staffs but this boon sometimes misutilized. However all the staffs are very sincere in action when there is an emergent situation like non movement of trains due to some problems. All work in a war situation mode.

One of the corrupt organisation in history of india. It looted common people and salary gives to the officers only who are posted junior there benefits go on vein.

Dislikes

...torious staff and made him dependent on railways job he have no way to leave it. Juniors are getting very low as officers got 5 to 20 fold salary of juniors but there work is very poor even cbs, CMI/CCI even write a letter to officers just copy it forward it the officers. Seniors only know how to exploit this junior employee by not giving proper rest leave holiday leave etc

Railway never compromise with the safety of passengers. Never compromise with SOP ,quality of materials & maintenance of equipment. Jobs security is good.

Dislikes

...e joined Sr. Sec. Engineer through out whole service remains as Sr.Sec.Engineer. Salary structure is bad.
