Work culture and flexibility. Not too much stress.

...(MS) holder from University of Texas at Arlington, USA are paid the same salary. Very huge pay disparity. No equal pay for equal work. Very racist and biased. Managers make false promises of promotions and very gradual pay hike. No meritrocracy. All degrees are the same. Doesnt matter if you worked until 3AM on projects to earn your STEM degree. BE and US STEM degrees are dirt cheap in India. US Management plays favorites.
Might improve location allocation for employees, So can be near to their families.

1. Working on latest technologies in few projects.
2. On time promotions if you are doing your job and working on client projects.
3. Good Annual hike compared to other service based companies.
1. Entire work on few people in project, others will relax and take same salary or in many cases more than you.
2. Less clients and more internal projects which makes promotion delay, unless there is huge dependency you won't get promotion.
3. Promotion depend on no of employees under manager and his budget not on performance.
4. They will release from project just before appraisal so you won't get neither appraisal nor promotion.
...tion. Everyone keeps quiet about this, if you speak up, you will be highlighted. This is so worse that any other benefit pales in comparison, even a high salary.
1. Salary and appraisals --> Worst/Worst/Worst, I think most of young peers who joined IBM say this. 80 % of the employees are not satisfied with the appraisals. If you join IBM come with atleast 100% hike.
2. Work Life Balance --> Never Ever Join AT&T, PMI projects, you have to work on weekends forcibly to complete the deliverables, don't expect any incentivies and compensatory leaves, they didn't even approve our planned vacation.
3. Most of the projects are legacy projects so you don't get much to learn.
4. Work Pressure, Imaturity Leads, Improper planning of project deliverables.
5. You will have people managers in IBM instead of HR's, they asks us to create certain tranings where it all revolves around (don't charge more than 9 hours, don't work on weekends/.holidays, POSH tranings, ethics etc etc) to surprise, these f***ers will call directly on mobile no matter what time it is and asks to work. This is how management is in IBM.. most of my friends, family, colleagues left IBM after joining within 1 year.
