Except salary hike and promotion everything is good at IBM. One can learn a lot if he/ she is willing. It's a company where the management will listen to the practitioners and takes steps to improve. All individuals are encouraged to work for the account and the organization and there is a lot of opportunities for right people to showcase talent and get the desired visibility. The flexi timing facility, trust towards the employees are points that other companies can learn and implement It's a lovely company to work for.

Dislikes

As I said salary hike and lack of growth up the ladder are the two points that should be improved. As IBM focuses on utilisation , it is most important to be billable. Otherwise it becomes an issue as utilisation is one of the key measures in IBM based on which performance is determined at the end of the year.

...f tax saving components are available to maximize the tax savings for employees. The higher basic salary means a higher contribution to EPF and NPS (if opted.) This in turn ensures a good retirement corpus. On the flip-side, the higher contribution to EPF results in a lower take home figure, which a lot of millennials feel is a negative (lower instant gratification.)

Dislikes

Work life balance can be a hit-or-miss depending on the specific client engagement. Globally dispersed teams and even within India the team members maybe located in any part of the country makes one feel disconnected at a human level from the team.

Work life balance is superb. Also you apprised what you did all the time.

Dislikes

Promotion process is not good. If you are on higher package in your band limit then don't think about the promotion for 3-4 years.
