...less. * Bonus is dependent on manager relationship and not performance related. * Compensation is pretty average. * Internal movement requires strong recommendations, else doesn't happen.

Nonstop upskilling. The workload is too much and not worth the salary. I applied as a Customer Service Representative. During the job offer and onboarding, I was told that I will do the usual customer service role. Opening/closing of account, some payments for credit cards. checking account status putting the account on freeze status and lifting banned that's it. That's supposed to be it. After training and nesting, we officially take calls and after 2 weeks we were pulled out. For another training this time it's for their online banking, after 2 days we take phone calls again and after that, we were pulled out again to train for scams, fraud, and disputes. I had enough when we were told that we will be training for credit cards and mortgages as well. Like the hell, this is the only center I know who makes their CS an All Rounder. There is supposed to be another department for disputes, fraud, and credit cards. I know that because I have been to 2 other financial company Capital One and Genpact before HSBC. This is the first time I got stressed at work and I feel so stupid because there was a time that I feel I don't learn anything like my brain just refused to accept other information because I have no time to process and familiarize myself with everything since it is another training every week.

The company has a fairly balanced work culture. It doesn't push employees to work beyond the specified hours. Additionally, there is a strong sense of ownership of the work. One gets to present his work to the higher managment thus there is good visibility.

Salary, at the beginning, is not as high as any other bank with similar profile as HSBC. Bank is probably, a little more conservative in welcoming newer technology.
