Nothing to write home about. It is just an abusive and toxic work environment

Dislikes

By far one of the most toxic work places in Nigeria with a very abusive employer with utter disregard for the employees.. It is Totally a top down organisation with complete disregard for employee input unless it is aligned with views of top management. No work life balance at all. Expat Employees are expected to work till six and then spend major part of evening preparing lot of unnecessary reports which take up most of the time and which if not sent, invite a query from management. All decisions come from top and imposed on employees and employees are expected to own those decisions and take blame if things don't go well Probably only organization in Nigeria which crams 4-5 senior expat employees in one house and expect them to share facilities. Micro-management is above the charts and there is no fixed time when you will be called by the owner or expected to reply to a message, could be very early in morning or very late in night. There are lots of unnecessary meetings and are held by owner very unapologetically till late in night sometime extending beyond even 10 pm and it is a very common occurrence. Threats of sacking to expat employees by the owner is very common. Salaries are far less in comparison to similar roles in other companies. There is lot of unnecessary reporting. Absolutely zero employee engagement and regard for employee welfare. Dissent with top management not only is unwelcome but also punished. Trigger happy owner who is ready to debit employee at every slight instance and without any intimation or chance of explanation. Expats are forced to work on public holidays. Not even a single public holiday is given to expats. Just stay away from this abusive employer who treats employees as his property.
