Well, to start with there’s no documentation team now. It was good when we had a dedicated documentation team. Now writers report to their respective engineering manager. If you are looking to become a product expert and not keen on exploring your career as a writer, then you can consider this organization. It’s action packed. From my personal experience: Zero acknowledgment or appreciation for the work you do. Especially, if you are not the kind that blows your own trumpet, you will go unnoticed. You will most probably be the only writer for the entire module and you will be loaded. I had to work with a person on the engineering team who always spoke in a patronising manner. It was extremely toxic to a point I had to report to the HR. It’s not just me. I knew a few others who felt the same way about this person. The point is that such people are allowed to thrive here. They remain unscathed. But there are some genuinely nice people too; totally depends on whom you get to work with. I hope this helps.
Harness is transparent and cares for its employees. It has an open culture, and everyone's encouraged to share their feedbacks - and they are worked upon. Have seen some great collaboration happening in the teams which has helped us achieve some really critical goals.
I think compensation can be improved. Even though we have good benefits/gifts coming throughout the year, rewarding the high performers would encourage them more to work better and look out for other opportunities. We have very good talent here and we should try our best to retain them.
Quality of code is high. People have high intellect. DevOps product so opportunity to learn about various things. They promote you if you put in the effort.
...ties that it is not that much effort. Egoistic nature of some senior developers. They give you joining bonus, retention bonus but it is nothing but a trap. They can fire you in 6 months and you will have to return that amount to them. Your 6 months of effort is wasted since you will lose joining bonus and performance bonus. Poor place to work overall.
...ery friendly coworkers and Managers
