...as working at GIMT. The society encourages the faculty members to do their best. On the other hand the salary at Gimt is at per with the UGC norms. But the appraisal process needs to improve. The present system gives a lot of scope to the HoDs for manipulation. Though, the society wants to promote maximum job satisfaction at GIMT but somehow it depends more on the Departmental culture and the concerned HoD, and that’s why it varies across the departments. According to my experience institutional work culture was much better than the MBA department work culture and that’s why I could sustain there for so long.

I worked in the MBA department for 10 years (2008 - 2018). Up till 2013 the department culture was very democratic but since 2014 till date when the leadership came under a very autocratic, political and biased leader, the MBA department became a worst place to work. Even the present HoD of the Dept treats her colleagues very rudely (threatens them at times of loosing jobs) and keeps conveying manipulative information to the higher authority and convinces the administration to take actions on unfair terms. She even shows a wrong picture about the activities of the department to the society. I must say that there is no transparency across the levels of hierarchy of management and that’s why some how the actual information do not reach the top management. Otherwise the people at top level management ( I mean the society) including secretary and the president of the institute are very good and understanding people.
