Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

The Company is good if you are fresher to get some work experience. The Directors are good in nature. Office environment is average. The work pressure is moderate. Salary increment is done every year. Office has good basic facilities such as pentry and separate washroom for men and women. Overall it's a good place to headstart a career to get some work experience which can be useful in future.
