New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward

I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

It's been almost 2 years now. Initially I started as a consultant but later on took the full time role. The company is into business since last 20 years so its a very well structured company and have got very capable team. The teams are well versed with the industry specific best practices and using latest tool to collate and collaborate. For those who have some complaints with the company I would say first look inside and check whether you have delivered what was expected from you. I am saying this because my manager has set up very very clear expectations with me after my agreement. I am very happy with my decision because I learnt al lot here and can see my future growth.

Fine for someone who are looking for learning but that also applicable only for 3 months maximum.
