Likes

Benefits are great, 8.9% salary contribution to 401k. Some departments have great work/life balance and laid back culture. I am able to work from home if I need to and my manager is fine.

Dislikes

Salary is peanuts. Promotions are not hard to get but your raise is capped at 10% which makes retaining talent difficult. When someone resigns it takes FOREVER to get their job posted and often much of that work is shifted on to other employees. Sometimes roles are never refilled.

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?
