Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

I am a bit confused what to mention. Because when I joined I got to know that company is not employee centric. You may be kicked out anytime. And I was very scared being the only earning member of the family . But this never happed with me so I didnt like people telling or spreading rumours. Working with Colvill never had an opportunity to go for team outing sponsored by management. :)
