Very professional about leave policy and work life balance.

Dislikes

There haven’t been appraisals even equivalent to the inflation rate. No tangible benefits apart from pay. Cost cutting continue and impact a lot of things.

Get to work that creates an impact. In case of work, there will be lot of helping hands for you to get going.

Dislikes

Politics is rampant when it comes to promotion. They get you in with high salary later they almost give no hikes. Only decent hikes when promoted. That too is decided/handpicked on whims of senior management. Your rating have no positive impact but your rating is tool used to communicate negative impact.

After working close to 5 years in this organization and getting promoted from analyst to manager, I think I can write an honest review. 1. The learning and development is awesome at Citi. Having worked at HSBC, SC, JPMC I can confidently say that Citi has a vast library of resources for technical and domain knowledge. I am yet to come across any organization which has such vast knowledge repository related to banking and financial sector. 5/5 for this. 2. The job security is very good. I haven't heard of any layoff atleast in the analytics team atleast between 2008 - 2019 (I worked till December 2019). They will give no bonus and provide 0%-1% hike to make you feel bad and eventually tender your resignation voluntarily but they have never laid off any employee.

...tions you can at the time of joining. 2. Bonus is subject to market conditions. If the economy is bad, expect your bonus to be like 10-15 days of your take home salary. If the conditions are good, expect 30-45 days of your salary as bonus (till C11 level). 3. Don't expect any promotion for 2-3 years of your joining and even if you get one, congrats you are only getting 10-15% hike in salary. 4. Be prepared to forget about your weekends more often than you think. I should have mentioned working days as 6 days a week to do the justice. 5. Office politics is the worst here. If you are not a Bengali and don't know the language, you cannot survive here. Same is the case in HSBC as well. I would suggest you to learn Bengali and then apply to these two organizations, it would really improve your chances of getting selected.

Globally Best work culture (In India it's toxic) Best perks & benifits Best leave policy .

...ecurity. They will remove them after a few days or they will push you to resign. Layoff affected a lot of employees in India and no one talked anything about this Part of the cost-cutting they targeted directors to the above level but when it comes to India all the MDs and directors protected each other and removed C05 to C11 employees from Citi.
