...raging employees to explore the Career Options within Citi and for the benefits. Citi had offered a very good pay scale that I respect and would always cherish. Several Training Program offerings to upscale the employees is a consistent initiative within Citi which is a definitely very good sign.

Dislikes

When an employee wish to raise a concern genuinely, it needs to be addressed. Employee EXIT Survey Feedback shouldn't be blocked to prevent employee from providing feedback. Unfortunately in my case, it had been blocked to prevent me from raising the serious concerns. Despite highlighting it to HR partner, the matter had been lingering till my last day. When a business unit is spanned geographically, every zonal team should respect Time zones of each other. Unfortunately, my manager at London had completely disregarded and disrespected it. Hiring a person for certain skill-sets and later pressurizing him to take charge of a different activity which may deviate him from his career path, is an absolutely wrong practice, which had been cultivated by my London manager. Forcing an employee to resign by threat of enforcing PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM is an another ugly tactic I had faced with my London Manager. Sabotaging an employee's work and reputation is an another ugly practice followed within my team, that I had witnessed and experienced. London Team manager had not bothered to stop it and had rather continued with silent support. To my unpleasant surprise, such an highly objectionable individual, my female manager at London, is still employed and retained by Citi. Unaware of the fact that she is just aiming at SEVERANCE ALLOWANCE at the cost of her fallen credibility.

Compensation is much better than the market standard Prior to reorganization(mid-2024), the work environment was fine, offering good work-life balance Employees were treated accordingly to their roles and experience

Dislikes

After reorganization, only onsite position/team members are considered for lead, manager, principal engineer, with onsite role preserved due to senior management being based there most of the work is done by offshore, but it is projected only onsite employees contributed because to safeguard their role and senior management wants to be in saved position Offshore employees are treated like subordinates to onsite employees, even at the VP level Employees with 18+ years exp are treated and compared with juniors who is having less than 4 years exp Employees are under immense pressure, indirectly being forced to resign Suggestion to Management conduct a voting/poll among existing employees to determine who is willing to opt for voluntary retirement or leave with severance pay instead of using phycological pressure to force self-resignation

Likes

Citi has multiple initiatives to help employee skill themselves, also it provides good compensation to right candidate who is at right place at right time.

Dislikes

It's advantage of having options for employees to skill themselves remains a distant fruit to most of starting or mid level workforce as most of those spend maximum of their time and overtime working/supporting daily application. Have got the same feedback from most of people. So after spending some 3-5 years with organization there is high probability that you would feel lagging behind your other friends working in similar organization and would feel difficult to switch.

Likes

Nothing. The company especially the Bengaluru Location is like a Milk production Diary and the employees are the livestock. Once they are milked enough then they are sent out for Slaughter.

Dislikes

Everything. They hire you at a very high package, in fact way more than current market trends so that you don't get employed elsewhere after you join Citi. Then the work culture, management, pathetic bosses, layoffs and always uncertainty makes it so difficult to survive. Eventually you succumb or go with the flow to lose your mental balance.

Positives are the Ramanujan IT sez itself with lots of greenery with world class garden and buildings - There used to be lot of Table tennis players which I have learnt and become good at TT after office hours (2015-16 period) but it sort of reduced after COB initiative as many members where shifted to other cities - Exposure to international clients and banking systems

Dislikes

...t recently I heard that they are giving promotions to other communities as well. But only the salary and levels are given not the entire team management role. It is very demotivating to know even after years of hard work you are not given promotions and good appraisals. I guess world is not fair I found out the hard way. - No regard for your health, due to my demanding investment role, handling huge sums i used to have lunch someday at 2.30, someday @ 1.30, sometimes at 3.30 or 4.30 in the evening, this is due to different cutoff time. And working 11 to 15 hours depending upon the volume and there is commute for another 2 hours per day. I literally felt like living in office!! After all the hard work living as bachelor getting proper food @ 11 and 12 in night was hard. I usually show all the frustration by having large amount of food at late night. Due to this unhealthy life style and work culture I had developed a health condition called GERD/reflux where your splinter muscles loosens and tend to vomit a lot. Got 3 endoscopy done first was in 2019 last was this year 2024. I couldn't go to a job due to this condition. - Every job is demanding so do your job but it is not your life. Take good care of yourself by having small breaks and have some fruits in between. Stay away from smoking and drinking. You got your family to take care even after your 40 but there is always someone to replace you at your company
