No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

I left this organization in April 29, 2024 due to poor leadership, ineffective HR policies & HR head unprofessional behaviour, and pervasive office politics. None of the management, including the Manager, Lead, or HR Head, are qualified in any capacity to lead a team/company. Employees in the Software Department (ISE) based in Gurgaon received no annual salary hikes for 2024 and 2025, and the annual bonuses for the same years were significantly lower (between 20–40%). Many employees are planning to leave this company in the coming days. Therefore, my advice is simple: if you're reading company reviews, please do not join. There is zero learning here—only politics, favoritism by HR and team leads, and a toxic work culture

Dislikes

...no job security as well. No technical growth old and outdated tech stack in use. No Bonus this year only received 20-30% of it. Strict office hours 4 days from office. You will have to work late from your home as well as all of the work runs from US. Managers here wont even take single stand for their team just doing this job for their retirments. You will loose your existing skills as well if you work here for long. You wont be able to match with skills set trending in the market.

... was 2 day wfo. At time of joining we were told about the company's flexibility. But now they are forcing employees to come to office 4 days a week else salary deduction. This is only happening in Gurgaon. In Bangalore Pune not as of now. In USA, no such rule is there. There is no limit of hipocrisy in this company. They are not even considering people coming from Greater Noida/Noida/Ghaziabad how they will commute daily. 2. No appraisal from last 2 years. Bonus only 20-30% this year. 3. No promotion happened so far 4. People Manager have no understanding of the product. They are not supportive to employees at all. Whatever policies HR is making is directed by them. It is disheartening when manager doesn't take a stance on issues that affect the team. They seem to just nod along with hr without considering the real impact on employees.
