...cts. Work-life balance is good with only exceptional situations to "grind work". Compensation-wise it is as par with other IT infra based solution providers however expect average increment levels per year. Good job security in general but internal movement to projects is only through IJPs which is a streamlined process in itself. Ample WFH opportunities based on project requirements and all India centres have to be aligned with UK shifts.

Dislikes

(1) BT internal tools and system are outdated and needs overhaul. (2) BT internal processes are sometimes hard to navigate. "By-the-book" approach in hinderance in many instances. (3) Internal politics while project movements through IJPs or promotions as is the case with many large orgs. (4) Minimal support for paid trainings or certifications. No relocation support, ESOP or joining bonus etc (5) "Escalation" is often a way to get timely support from internal/cross-functional teams

I like Team that I work closely with.My reportees. Very hard-working young people. We work in collaboration. I also like the employee re-hire policy.

Compensation is decent, but growth is slow. Lack of healthy competition. Senior Management tends to get quite personal and often uses the rating system as a means of extracting work, which can be done professionally. Else gets demotivating.Require flexible work timings for senior roles such as Team Managers and above.

Salary on time. Learned new skills.

Haven't found a pigeon box last 3 months. No one here to listen your problems. If you ask anything about your problem, you'll get a response that turns back on you. The technician, pantry boy, and security supervisor are all here to give you a backhanded response. The biggest issue here there is lack of respect. The one who hired you hasn't even asked for feedback until now. "Every company asks for feedback every three months; I'm sharing what I know from my experience."

If you are joining the india management unit, avoid product function at all costs. You will mostly be reporting to UK leads and you will start feeling like you are working in East India company, a slave to be precise. The HQ only see you are paid slave who can be overworked and work can be dumped and India will accept it. You will not be included in any strategy calls or leadership interactions. The roadmap will be decided in UK and PMs in Indian are hired only to run the show with India dev team. The demographic politics will blow your mind. You are only a yes master to the goras/whites. Your white/goras treat you like a resource from Third world country and the process and culture is designed to make sure you feel that on a daily basis. Racism will be felt everyday. You raise any issue to white/goras and they wont be addressed as you are from Third world/underdeveloped. Curx : You are not allowed to complain. Even desi on-site would have earned the privilege to act rude or mistreat you as they are on-site. You are not allowed to apply for IJP/internal onsite-roles as a new clause has been introduced that you should be legally eligible to work in UK to apply for them. You will work with goras/ white designers, content editors, analytics. Usually they will not work on your ideas/support you because goras/ do not like taking inputs/actions items from third world country. Indian team is asked by gora/white HQ to be given the lowest rating for first 6 months though you will achieve all the goals. You will most likely be ruining your career path here in case you are joining management side. There are no career growth opportunities here. You will be appalled by the knowledge level/understanding of Goras/HQ. Their share price reflects of this culture. You Are actually better off joining any indian org. focused on indian market, whre you are tleast respected and values. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I just resigned from BT after 7yrs and I can say its my best 7yrs in my career.

Dislikes

...you want a secured job, with good work-life balance then BT is the best company. But you may need to compromise on the yearly salary hike. BT has the best car lease policy in the industry. Learning is ok ok atleast with regards to network design team, not sure about other domains.
