Stability vs Growth
I worked in a company for 20 years and suddenly put off role. Searching jobs I realised I am over age for various roles that I could do and less experienced for Leadership Roles as my exposure was limited. I always thought I am earning decent money and can work another 7 years and retire at 50. Though the younger generation is much smarter I still want to advise them (BFSI specific) * Work in a role for max 2-3 years and switch when you feel you are done. * By age of 30, if you are still earning less than 10 lakh you are not growing * By age of 35 you must become AVP as no company will hire AVP if you are more than 36. *Be loyal to your self, not your organization. * Most importantly save atleast 30% or more of whatever your CTC. Donot spend much with every raise. * Buy a property, and pay loans before 35. In tough times it's only Savings that give you cushion and peace nothing else

Job is secure here. The company provides ample leaves and average compensation. HR policies are generally good.

Management: Indifferent and short sighted. It doesn't care about employees or the company. Planning: Most employees are complacent about their work as there is no accountability. If you can be complacent, and able to dodge work, you may actually enjoy here. Surviving the day is the norm. No short or long term planning is done. Everything will be sudden. Culture: Colleagues will not share any knowledge with when you come across a new task. They will just give you a file and ask you to figure out everything in a complex task. They will say that they also learned in similar way. Heirarchy: If you have 5 different persons for procuring work and only 1 of them for appraisal, your work will never get noticed. Especially, when there is no documentation, or communication in the team. In such a setting, you must take everything in email copying your appraisal manager. Also save time to prepare a log from first day.

... the greatest company to work with in India/Gurgaon in terms of work culture. Some people in AXA XL Gurgaon find problem and complain about politics, low pay etc etc but they are the people who have never worked in another BPO/BPS company so they don't actually have anything to compare with. I used to smile inside when see them complaining (because door ke dhol suhavne lgte hain)... The reason I left is because of an unsolicited job opportunity gaven by one of my previous manager. The role was very interesting so I took the big decision. Else AXA XL is a company I can happily retire with.

While joining everything will looks good but there is no growth at all.

...cs. No work life balance lot of favouritism especially in Accounts Payable team. No team outing, compensation is also not up to the market. If you want to go out of company also no one cares.
