Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

The immediate manager was polite and friendly.

Dislikes

The company doesn’t care about it’s employees. They fired half of their resources when lockdown was announced in March 2020 without giving any notice or compensation. Suddenly next day, people became jobless and then they never bothered to ask the well being of their employees that how they are managing themselves in such a pandemic without job.
