No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

A good part of your salary comes in the reimbursement form, you can save tax. You get salary and expenses timely.

The company is divided into two different universes. Head office and field team. HO team has nothing to do while field team is over burdened. HO team thinks of God himself and field team as slave. All the department work in silos and no collaboration among themselves. HO team is full of ego and attitude. You can’t question their working or non responsiveness. Appraisals are done on face value and it’s very tough to get a promotion if you are in support function. There is no discussion or deliberation before rolling out anything by marketing team. It’s the worst marketing team ever I have seen.

Higher management is bringing on unnecessary pressure. NRC ( daily followups and customer calls) No trust in sales and service team Company does back end calls to the dealers to ask for employee performance. Very poor appraisal system Company is earning profit but they are not passing down the line. Restricted growth opportunities. They have kept their prices high in the month of aug and September in comparison to MRF and now when they lost market share they are blaming the sales force

There will be almost zero growth . ABU manager job is a dead end. There is almost zero chance of ABU managers becoming RBU heads. Initially , appraisal was good and completely based on merit but since last 2 years it is as per the wish of seniors which directly impacts your willingness to perform and thereby leading to lot of attrition in the last year. Saturday working( officially it is half day but actually you need to work more than a normal weekday). NRC - Company has no faith in its field team , so now they have started to keep track of visits and also cross checking with dealers/customers. If you have worked on a Sunday and want to take comp off then they will judge you and speak in your back about it. Your manager can take leave whenever he wants but if you want it then he will give you gyan that you should inform well in advance etc
