Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

Company policies are good, but still there is room for improvement. On the burst of covid 19 Alemco terminated me and I had to return back to Kerala as I could not get a job elsewhere due to the economic conditions.

There is a lot of politics and the management issues. Salary is decent but career growth is slow.
