AU is supportive through these tough times. They have held virtual meetings to discuss about mental and physical health, work management and social issues. Their support staff has helped many individuals to cope through difficult times, also ensuring that the employees do not face financial hardships.

Management system - not at AU but at VS (sub-dept of AU).

Campus is good. Senior Management are nice accept VC

Dislikes

Treatment given to employees directly recruited for VC. At the time of giving employment they show a rosy picture but the fact is hidden. VC has the habit of terminating employment of his employees after a period of one year. They bring outstation employee and then ask them to leave abruptly after one year. Till one year every thing is fine.

The best part about Ahmedabad University is that it offers you the opportunity to revisit the University atmosphere. You will come across so many moments where you will feel nostalgic and remember your own student life. For this reason alone I recommend anyone to work at a University.

Dislikes

Following are the major disadvantages. - Highly unpredictable, unplanned and uncertain work environment. - No work-life balance. Though no one directly asks you to stay back but since you don't want to spill over your work to the upcoming week, you end up working on weekends. So the '5 days working' phrase exists only on paper. Please don't apply if you want a less stressful job. - No team structure. 2-3 member team is called a department/function! - No job security. Specially if you are at a senior position. - No system to recognize your contributions. Hence no transparent appraisal process. But somehow there exists a quick and highly effective system to criticize people and demotivate them. - An overall negative environment.

I used to like the culture of AU, but with change of Management, the culture,the work environment has deteriorated..the mentality as become poor more of individual centric

Dislikes

Well with the new management, approach towards employees has become meaner, the people who are good at so called pleasing skills with no or lil knowledge are escalated to higher positions.
