Racism and partiality towards Asians and Africans. Work life balance is very poor. Most of the faculties and highly egoistic and arrogant. Lures students by showing high salaries and then treats them as cheap labor.

Honestly nothing is appealing to work in Sinica except the facility is relatively fairly equipped.

Dislikes

There are many things that I am appalled and feel obnoxious about. It is an institute with no policy to implement for a healthy environment. I can give several examples of poor admin support that jeopardizes expectations and badly affect the quality of performance of employee. The bigotry I encountered from my PI in the IBMS in Sinica is evident for my insecurity. On top of that I had my lab results' sabotaged, which shocked me pretty much, what else can create a demotivation that brings up psychological or physical stress. Besides, as an international student, I will never be trained before or at the same pace with native employees or student. I was always delayed in trainings and later to receive it through students another time, which was systematically to look little of myself. Moreover, I was misled or misinformed regarding details of experiments to humiliate me in front of other fellows in the lab or even in important events. it is also the most hypocrite institute, they will be asked research area choice but in reality you are not allowed pursue it, it is the PI who dictates what you do. It is prohibited to request for salary reform, otherwise you will be considered a threat and a contempt to the institute, no rights just exploitation. Once, in welcome program of new students, a movie schedule for scene, 12 years Slave. In the meantime, I was personally invited by the organizing committee to the hall. I was wondering until I was asked by my PI about my view on the movie. So much so, lesson learned, never witness such a racist, narrow minded, ignorant and an institute that lack elegance, professional and ethics. In conclusion, prejudice is yet apparent and so is racially biased attitude. As such, I will never recommend joining this institute unless someone is ready for chaos that certainly will end up in career suicide.
