...erent branch office worldwide. ABB gave me the feel of a real corporate culture
c) Salary and other perks were quite good
I want to write this review to specifically talk about the Group Head of Audit - AMEA. I do not know whether he is still working there or not but I am most likely guessing he is still there and he is one of the reason that I hate the company.
This person is a treasure trove of knowledge when it comes to audit and business practices within Middle East and the world where the ABB offices were located but, as a person, I rate him negatively.
He was the most arrogant; foul-mouthed and dominating person I have ever seen. Along with this, he had anger management issues and he displayed complete lack of respect for his team members. I have personally seen how he has insulted the team members so atrociously if they either think differently or do not ascribe to his views. He is the most abominable human on this planet and he has no feelings for anyone within the team. Even a simple conversation with him is a challenge because you never know how this guy would even react and he finds unnecessary reason to shout at his people. I do not understand how this person is even made to stay in the company for more than 20 years and no one from the senior management in ABB Head Office or Human Resource take an action against him.
What was even more worse is that he had a Hub Manager working under him who was his replica when it comes to behaviour. Both of them prided at the fact that they have anger issues and boast about how they scold their team members. Even the schools have been instructed to not insult or hit the children and here, in a world of so-called qualified professionals where we (Auditors) are supposed to be presented as a hallmark of excellence in terms of knowledge and personality, these two disgusting individuals are a black spot in the auditing field.
I have never come across such an unprofessional; bad-mouthed and arrogant senior staff in my years of working. I am sure if they hear this, they will say, "You haven't seen the worse." I do not care whether there is good or bad in the world around - when they are in a senior position, they should learn to behave like a human being and not a cold-hearted maniacs.
If the HR / PR team is reading this review, I would suggest you take this feedback seriously because I never had a chance to say this when I was in the company between 2016-2018. If this is the kind of culture and people existing in a large company like ABB, you are indirectly promoting toxicity in this workplace and allowing such people's hubris to grow multi-fold.
For those who have read my review, please note that if you do not get a good vibe during the interview stage, please do not accept the job offer in Internal Audit over here. Their behaviour gave me a mental trauma and it has taken years for me to get out of it. I do not wish the same for any sane professional.
They provide regular health checkups. If working in night shifts, cab facilities, free food and snacks. This is the some things i liked there.(i was in contract there)
...on, you just work like labour but can't expect anything from boss or Management. Because of management's obsession for cost-cutting employees suffered a lot. No team lunch, no team outing, no extra activites other then work. Just work and go. No monetary benefits for overtime workings. Totally demotivating environment. (News)After some days they are going to automate the processes, so bye bye to all hard working employees. Never recommend this company.

...person was always suffering from both higher management and from blue collar.
There was wide mismatching in salary level. The ITI pass worker getting more salary than the engineer having same duration of experience. The workers are getting 5 times more graduety than his superior on retirement.
