Indian management (as I worked under their supervision) have no inclination towards marketing support or distribution support for the partners. In first month of joining, I realized that none of the old distributors or channel partners were interested in working with Targus (as a whole, being an IT brand, Targus team has a bad reputation among respected IT partners who have been working in the industry for a while). I enrolled new distribution partners and worked on product communication within LFR to enhance counter share through product awareness. Nobody tracks your work on the basis of efforts and expansions that are happening, but internal management decisions are purely based on the volume business. After a good run of 7 months with the organization, I was asked to move to Mumbai (HO) and handle national marketing for the company but without any support for relocation. Indian management finally decided to downsize and neither did they hire another candidate for my role, they cut off all the new partners and sellers I had enrolled in the system.
