QCI is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India. QCI hires candidates via two channels - permanent and contractual. QCI has made a reputation for itself in the last one decade due to the inception of a new division - PPID (Project Planning and Implementation Division). PPID is the consulting arm of QCI thatoffers strategy, implementation consulting and policy research support to public sector (mainly government entities such as departments, ministerial offices). PPID hires young professionals on a contractual basis, initially for 3 months, and extendable indefinitely based on mutual fit and project requirements. Few of the likes are (these are only for PPID-QCI and not QCI as a whole): 1 - As a young fellow, you get to manage teams and deal with senior stakeholders (senior bureaucrats, ministers etc) from a very young age. In other consulting firms (Big 4, Big3) only senior consultants with 10+ years of experience perform front end stakeholder management. 2 - A gateway into development sector / social impact consulting. 3 - Since most projects come from government, thay are massive in scale. 1 - Lack of Standardisation/arbitrariness - Being a young division that grew too quickly, one can have contradictory experience depending on a) Project Manager: Some PMs are great and cultivate a learning environment while others are crazy idiots. b) Projects - few projects involve very interesting strategy and consulting assignments, while few are monotonous BPO work. c) Location & Clients - Project in Project Management Units can be stressful and extend late into the night. 2) Toothless HR 3) Laughable leave policy - only 12 a year, and that too accrued monthly. For eg: In February, you'll have only 2 leaves, and a 3rd will get added to your account on Mar 1. This way you may have to wait till June to accumulate 6 leaves before taking a week off....Read More

While working on national intrest we don't have personal time which is sometime ridiculous.
