Despite my efforts to seek assignments, I often faced a lack of work, leading to performance reviews that labeled me as an underperformer. The environment can be quite toxic, with unrealistic expectations to deliver complete projects from scratch within a week and a budget of just 10,000 INR. Additionally, there is pressure to hire freelancers without the company providing adequate compensation for their work. Moreover, there is a noticeable lack of technical knowledge within the management team, which further complicates project execution and development. My experience at Petromin was marred by several challenges that made the work environment increasingly difficult. There was a significant disconnect between leadership and the realities of digital marketing, which resulted in unrealistic expectations and poor decision-making. Promised relocations were never fulfilled, and there werefrequent delays in both salary payments and reimbursements, which caused additional frustration. Moreover, the political environment within higher management created a toxic atmosphere. The focus seemed to be on discrediting the internal team in favor of external agencies, with key team members being excluded from important discussions. This was compounded by a lack of transparency and accountability. My interactions with both the CEO of India and the GCMO were particularly strained due to their unprofessional behavior, threats, and a general lack of respect for the team's contributions. These issues ultimately led to a hostile, unproductive workplace that hindered progress and collaboration. I have still not received the pending reimbursement and final settlement with multiple attempts to reach out to resolve this but the unprofessional behaviour continues....Read More
