Working at NIIT was a combination of many ups and downs. You might find it interesting ONLY if you get posted under good management and a good team to work with; in short, if you get lucky! The work environment seems to be friendly and the management shows that they care for employees, however, in reality, they only care about the co mpany's reputation at the employees' stake. The management makes a perception of their employee on what they HEAR from their fellow managers and not on their performance or the hard work that they put in day and night in building their organization. Workplace culture is competitive and self-centered. There is no day or night concept in this organization; no work-life balance and your 8-hour shift get converted to a 12/14 hour shift daily; without providing overtime benefits. HR will only show that they care for the employees, but in reality, they are getting out words and complaints from you to raise a complaint against you! Increments and appraisals are again an extremely slow process here. You will not be paid as per market standards, but they will squeeze out every inch of your blood for the benefit of their organization. Sick leave and paid leave can only be availed upon informing managers in advance. The management will judge you even when you fall sick in the morning/not feel well to work that day and apply for leave. In short, you need to inform well in advance that you are going to fall sick on the coming working day! There's no work-life balance as such. The managers give you a load of work and expect you to finish it the same day. A week's work is expected to be finished in half the duration and then they will ask you why you are taking so long to finish. There are hell lot of trackers to manage your productivity.
