The below is subject to which co-founder your function roles into as most are great mentors and very good to work with. But then there are always exceptions to the same: a. Leadership hiring is a family affair. It's little to do with skill (especially managerial qualities) or experience but largely based on past relationships because of which majority leave as there is a lack of mentorship and more of politics combined with ulterior motives. b. The entire product and tech team has been revamped. The older folks who worked and understood the system, most importantly business is gone. Thereby creating massive knowledge gaps. b. The HR is very biased and does not think from employees uplift standpoint at all especially when it comes to actions. c. The designation and hierarchy within any vertical is a joke as it changes with every appraisal just to appease an employee. The HR policies get amended time and again based on convenience, which can also lead to change w.r.t. your promised and documented compensation structure....Read More

Got Rejected In an Interview, Just Because I Didn’t Answer a Personal Question

So, I got invited for this interview, and they told me to be there at 9 AM. Of course, I get there early, like 8:30, because I don't want to be late. But then I end up waiting for 1.5 hours. Seriously, they didn't even acknowledge me until 10. Then this HR lady calls me in, and she's totally unprofessional. She's like, on her phone, making personal calls while I'm sitting right there. And then she starts asking me these really weird questions, like what my nickname is, and what my dad does for a living. It got really uncomfortable when she started pressing for details about where my dad works. I mean, what does that have to do with anything? So I politely told her I didn't want to answer, and she actually said, "Then we can't continue this interview." I was honestly shocked. But instead of arguing, I just stood up and said, “Alright then.” And walked out. I left feeling pissed. Not only did they waste an hour of my time, but the HR rep was also rude and unprofessional..
