Like most people I joined Mensa with an intention to grow as an individual, learn new skills and to create a stable career path for creative career, but few months down the line, I was left anxious and lacking confidence. Oftentimes the recruiter hires you with 3x times current CTC & brainwashes you to believe that you will get a stable career, ESOPS, brand tag etc. But what worth is it if few months down the line, you are stuck in a toxic work culture you want to bail out from? The compensation offered means nothing compared to the toxic work culture you get to deal with & ESOPs are not happening anytime soon either & the brand tag is useless when you have to explain yourself to another recruiter why you left this 'fast growing UNicorn'. There was a saying in our childhood, that all that glitters is not gold. Often time we are desperate either for a job change, or career growth and believe all the sugar coated words presented to us, that is your moment to believe in yourself and not to choose a business based on sugar coat but on worth. Like many others I believed these reviews were disgruntled employees, but few months down the line, we all realised this was the truth, I should have noted before. And the worst factor is the stability is so volatile that even top managers are leaving. Coming to the KRA's, we all know and understand that a startup is fast faced and you get to learn a lot, but would you be doing something thats completely opposite from your skill? For example a creative designer going for door to door marketing? How about your creativeness taking a toss and being subdued by egoistic seniors who believe they are the best, only to hear few month down the line that they got demoted? Career is important & so is time & energy. If you are willing to outperform your peers and shine in the industry you are in, I'd suggest you make your decisions wisely. The Beauty & Skincare segment is one nightmare to work with & if you dont believe , suggest you try and see this yourself. But in the end, you'll be skill less, feeling incompetent & wondering if your sanity tool a toll when you accepted to be a part of this!
