Landesa is one of the best international NGO. The work culture was so good that most people once joining Landesa doesn't want to leave even when they get higher salary in other organisation. I had to leave since Landesa has to stop their projects because of the FCRA issues. Landesa was a very good organization and really thought about the betterment of the people or the beneficiaries who they were working for. I hope this FCRA rift will solve and Landesa will start working in INDIA and west bengal again and I want be a part of it again. I miss my days in Landesa and the people of this organisation. It's been two years i have left this organisation but the memories of the work in that organisation is still so fresh....Read More

Got Rejected In an Interview, Just Because I Didn’t Answer a Personal Question

So, I got invited for this interview, and they told me to be there at 9 AM. Of course, I get there early, like 8:30, because I don't want to be late. But then I end up waiting for 1.5 hours. Seriously, they didn't even acknowledge me until 10. Then this HR lady calls me in, and she's totally unprofessional. She's like, on her phone, making personal calls while I'm sitting right there. And then she starts asking me these really weird questions, like what my nickname is, and what my dad does for a living. It got really uncomfortable when she started pressing for details about where my dad works. I mean, what does that have to do with anything? So I politely told her I didn't want to answer, and she actually said, "Then we can't continue this interview." I was honestly shocked. But instead of arguing, I just stood up and said, “Alright then.” And walked out. I left feeling pissed. Not only did they waste an hour of my time, but the HR rep was also rude and unprofessional..
