This is one of the worst company having worst working culture and no increments. Most of my colleagues got first increment after 2 years and in-hand 200 Rs has got reduced from monthly salary. It was totally horrible experience for me as worked very hard for almost 2 years. Also, overall 3-4.5% increment was offered to most of my colleagues joined with me. It is less than inflation rate. Nobody works here more than 2 years except the old managers who have joined during the company was with Tata Forbes group and culture was good. Nerolac offered me 4.2 LPA CTC and got around 22000 in-hand which is again embarassing. All other parts of salary like Gratuity, Superannuation which are almost 33% of CTC has been deducted permanently from my 3 year salary. Working culture is worst. You do not have any authority to even drink a tea in canteen expect during morning hours before working time. The officers are passout from good government engineering colleges like ICT, LIT, UDCT, etc having good academics but the bosses are Diploma holders and do not respect any officer. Officers are treated like workers in the company which is truly empower not to work for the company. Most of the time company will ask to visit factory but they will not recruit employees at factory. Nothing that I can remember.
I joined the organization in the last week of August 2023 as an Influencer Marketing Manager of the Loyalty program (Pragati) at their Mumbai HO and was a part of the Decorative Paints Division. I was a part of the Marketing team and I had a Pan India role assigned to me. I was directly reporting to Aniroodh Gadge who was then the GTM Head (Go-To-Market), currently he has been promoted as the Business Head for Soldier Paints at Nerolac, Rohit Malkani who was then the Senior VP currently promoted to the Chief Business Officer and Murali was the Senior Influencer Marketing Manager. Murali who had joined the organization a month before me was fairly new to the system. I had made it very clear to Aniroodh during my interview that I had no prior knowledge in Marketing as my earlier experience had purely been in Sales but, I was ready to put in the effort that was required for the role provided I was given the right support from him to execute the tasks and responsibilities assigned to me. For the first 3 week since I joined Nerolac I wasn't even assigned a laptop as there was a cyber attack in their HO due to which all the new joinees were not given laptops and hence I had no access to official mails as well within the organization. After I was assigned a laptop in the last week of September I was bombarded with emails and pending tasks and wasn't even given a proper handover from the person who was handling this role before me. Every time I reached out to Murali for support he would wash his hands off when things went out of his control and would put the blame on others for his shortfalls and Aniroodh being the GTM Head had absolutely no idea about the ground reality. They always played the blame game. Instead of grooming the newly joined members in the GTM, Aniroodh and Murali would burden us with more tasks and make us work on Sundays as well. These were clear signs of a toxic work culture and a pathetic Manager. We had external Consultants KPMG who were hired for the GTM team and would be constantly chasing us with unrealistic deadlines and to meet targets as they were hired for hefty sum by Nerolac. The top management at Nerolac instead of appreciating us for our work we were constantly criticized by the GTM head and the Sr. VP for the tasks we performed. The higher management were clueless and had absolutely no idea why Nerolac is performing so bad across India despite all their efforts to hold their existing market share and they have only managed to be the 3rd largest paint company in India far far behind the market leaders (till the new entrants catch up). After 4 months of joining Nerolac and performing the tasks that I was assigned and while I was still on Probation period and had achieved 72% of my target for Q3 in 2023, on 28th December 2023 I was informed by Aniroodh that he along with the other members of the management felt that I am not the right fit for the role and that there was no other place at Nerolac where I could perform well and deliver. Some of the reasons stated by Aniroodh were that I was not clear about my tasks and was not delivering to the expectations of the team (clearly contradicting my sales achievement as per my target) and was also given a reason that since I had not converted a Scheme letter document from Telugu to English and was not able to handle pressure and complex tasks assigned to me all of this was hilarious and absurd to me. Aniroodh told me to look for a suitable opportunity outside Nerolac and would give me 30-40 days of notice period during which I was asked to report to office everyday, perform all the tasks and attend all meetings and then apply to jobs/ interviews sitting in office. The senior management at Nerolac lacks professionalism and credibility which clearly reflects on their diminishing market share in India amongst the other Paint companies. Some members working in the organization are very unprofessional and will ruin your careers in no time.
