If I talk about my initial phase of working here like 20-25 years before it was really a good experience for me to work. There were new challenges to overcome and many new learning used to happen in my daily routine work. But nowadays like from 2-3 year we are facing lot of issues in terms of payment, work and other core necessities which is now become a huge hurdle in our life.

Dislikes

As I mentioned earlier, job security and career growth has been fully negligible nowadays. There were no salaries given from last 24 months and due to which our work has totally imbalanced. To talk about innovation there is no such innovation has been taken by government or higher management to improve the quality of the mill so far due to which the mill has become non-operating from last 3 years.

Work Details

My work is slightly challenging as I have to look after all the process of making caustic which is the primary source of making paper. I have to deal with proper amount along with temp., quality of chemical components which are highly used in making paper

At around 10 years back it was an excellent company though of medium category yet regularly paid dividend to the GoI. The work culture was good and the people were happy.The bosses were stable and friendly and guided during the crucial period to arrive a decision.The best part was I was open highhandedly executed the things I liked specially in the field of Farm Forestry and Tissue Culture activities which also fulfills the sustainability culture that getting raw material by giving more supplements to the mother nature and that too by engaging the local tribal people.I traveled a lot and met people,attended the seminars and updating the skills.I also completed my MBA in HR since I love to work with people....Read More

All of a sudden the things started declining and people become offensive to each other.Earlier the top bosses were from in side the Company and now they are hiring from outside.The new bosses from top management institute started implementing their mission without taking necessary time to get the feel of the work flow and team ofemployees working for years together and out rightly implemented the policies which may be good for the top companies with high financial stability where they produce multiple product from minimum input like Oil Companies with more work force but not to the mid level homely Companies where employees working very hard to manufacture a single product from multiple input in a homely environment.Initially it started with the whimsical transfer of the officer from one unit to another which turns to pick and choose type motivated by the big contractors.To get rid of the transfer people started suspecting each other and the work culture started deteriorating and employees become offensive to each other. The financial power centralized to Company Head quarter and now the unit could not took own decision for renovation and other important things.The machinery suffered and top bosses concentrated on more production with paying hid to regular maintenance work.Finally the down time increased ,the raw material price increased due to the contractor lobby and the result is increase of variable price and continuous loss.the quality time which I once enjoyed with playing TT or by writing and taking photography taken over by long office hours without much result. We do not have a big team, but good communication and proper information sharing amongst the team members help to achieve the desired target within the time frame. My fellow team members have the strong sense of accountability and they are committed to their job. Career growth is defined as per the company's promotion policy and does not seem to be bad. Salary etc is guided under the CPSE rules only as ours is a 'A' schedule company under the ministry of HI&PE, GoI. Yes, there may be political intervention, but we are to curve out ways to neutralise it for our best benefits. We are committed to create a healthy working environment which we achieve through proper communication and giving due weightage to the performers. Being HR people we keep very good relation with the Statutory bodies, District and State Administration which often helps us to combat harsh situations and also helps in neutralising major IR issues. we work in a remote locality and can not offer best of the amenities to the work force but the infrastructure that we have is pretty good to help lead a healthy life wherein education of the offspring is taken care of and medical and other facilities are also extended within the estate itself....Read More

CPSEs do give preference to seniority almost blindfoldedly over competency at the time of promotions by DPC, which must be attended to attract better/best performers. Most of the decisions have been taken by the Corporate Head Quarter since 9-10 years unilaterally without consulting the Units, thus many of them avoided the ground reality and ultimately came out to be wrong/worse and landed the company in a bad shape....Read More

Work Details

75% of the total employees comprises of workmen, as company is in bad position at present the IR issues are also very high with external political interference, we are keeping extreme patience and cool which most of the time is paying us the dividend.
