Harman has various Work Group, Automotive, Audio, Connected Car.... Not all can be assessed the same way as Automotive has several Business Units, again not all Business Unit can be assessed the same way. Keeping employees engaged by HR is better than engineers engaged by Project Management. HR Policy are best.
Example, Automotive has Digital Cockpit, Telematics, ADAS, Navigation.... 1. Digital Cockpit has all the best practice, process and lead by a capable Director. 2. ADAS is one of the new Business UNit lead by a Director who do not give anything about process, best practice, development strategy, here its also heard the director hiresincapable to higher position based on reference and influence. 3. Connected Car is handled by best Director but he is adamant and fires any who comes with a challenging question on what is not good. 4. Telematics is ok ok but Director is confused by attrition. 5. Hiring is pathetic as they hire poor skillset person and map to a skillset which is not the requirement. 6. Offer whatever engineer asks and create lot of gaps between existing engineer CTC and newly hiring engineer CTC. 7. HR do not know what tools they need but buy all fancy with lot of duplicate tools which does the same work. This shows they do not have technical knowledge but does the business. 8. CTO is sitting home getting salary with no work from years and no one cares and he himself do not know what is his work to the company. 9. Harman Germany is the worst as they show attitude, arrogance and not the expertise at work. all they do is outsource work to his/her friend company even a small software feature work. Germany center are not even 10% competitive compared to India but their arrogant behavior is annoying. 10. Work life balance is there since there is no goal set done by the managers. Harman's policies are employee friendly but not the managers.

As johndeere client, no any likes are there.
If Johndeere is a client, don't join this company. Mobile phones are not allowed inside the office, it's like being jailed. It's like slavery. Johndeere makes every decision, including hikes. You will be harrassed by Johndeere leads a lot. Their work is also given to you.

Harman automotive underwent a management change 2 yrs back and this year alot of people were fired. I do believe management was more at fault as they were unable to bring in sales and customers. This was the first company where I saw Indians held senior roles & behaved equal (sometimes superior) to foreigners
Maybe it was specific to my VP but the work environment was very toxic. Women were treated as secretaries. Because the team is global, work was 24/5 & your work was not recognized or appreciated, it was taken for granted. No support from HR, they only reacted to the VP.
