I enjoy learning the reinsurance industry and getting exposure to all different types of claims. It’s nice to work directly with clients as opposed to dealing with customers like you would in primary insurance. Apart from renewal season, workload is generally pretty manageable

Dislikes

The department I’m in is clearly undervalued by the company and there’s a big disconnect across departments (such as ours and broking) that could benefit from better communication. As a result there is not a lot of investment in the department or trainings in place to make new hires feel confident in the role leading to a long learning curve and frustration amongst clients and brokers internally.
