The upper level management is working hard to make a transition from teaching based to research based university. You will feel like working in a govt.sector as far as job security is concerned.

Lack of resources and clarity to do experimental research. Disparity in salary and appraisal is a major concern which creates frustration among many faculties. GITAM could easily implement govt. like salary structure. This would substantially reduce the grievance among the staff. Friendly and helpful colleagues. Quite relaxed in terms of leaves

The management is terrible. There are no holidays for the summer or winter, and holidays falling on weekdays would have to be compensated on weekends. If you're even 5 minutes late, it is calculated as Loss of Pay because of the biometric system. You get absolutely no time for your own research or writing. And you don't always teachin your area of expertise. The commute takes very long and there is no AC in the buses. The students are unruly and do not do any work or attend classes, but expect to pass with good grades....Read More
