Extramarks is a big name in the education sector. So, working with them makes you noticeable. But, they are famous for their ill-behaviour, bad company policies and lay-off. Cherry on the top, no organization was prepared for the COVID-19 so do extramarks. But, the difference is when every organization is finding ways to help their staff members they found ways to add more chaos to their life. During COVID-19, most of the academic team didn't get any work and without any discussion or notice they put many of us on leave without pay. With passing weeks, they kept involving a few more people to work from home band but on furlong basis. Without no doubt having bad management they are giving unbearably excessive work and now again, without any discussion or notice we have got another information that our salary structure is been redefined and will remain same for next 6 months and many have lost 50% of their CTC....Read More

There is nothing much to dislike this place. No unanimous decisions are taken by any level of managers in the hierarchy thus, there is always confusion between members in the same team, members in the other teams and inter department too! If you are a person who believes your work speaks for you, then certainly this is not a place for you. They hardly bother what kind of work you deliver. The only thing that matters to them is to deliver work, irrespective of its quality. From work culture to work environment, from salary to appraisal, from relation between the team members to the unbearable politics everything is terribly poor. There is no innovation, no work-life balance and no training and learning for fresh talents. Above everything, there micromanagement is so down market that they monitor the breaks, including water bottle filling breaks and wash room using breaks, like anything, and they don't shy asking you about these breaks. Then, you have to deposit your mobile phones that too in an unprotected box that anybody can manage... so your personal life is sacrificed and ruled like anything....Read More

Simply nothing. They are not bring any new technology. Employees are simply nothing to them. They fire people without giving them any notice or any specific reason.

Dislikes

Work culture sucks. Their is a set hierarchy and people take use of it by disgracing the creativity youths bring.

I actually learned a lot while working at Extramarks. My team was a family to me.

Dislikes

1. There is no training session. We learn through our own experience and simply by searching it on google. Funny but true. 2. Career growth is there but only if you know how to flatter the other person. It will not be wrong to say that academics department is at stake only because of HODs and their poor performance and fake reports but unfortunately target always shifts down to developers. 3. As far as career growth and appraisal are concerned, hahaha, either flatter or forget. 4. After 2018, work life balance is poor. HODs and manager are after the employees all the time that we have to submit our mobile phones in the library and we are forced to stay back and avoid tea breaks even to meet the targets. #company should ask, HODs first what do they do?
