If one wants to be recognized/stand-out among many others for their work, enthusiasm, and if, one who wants to achieve their career potentials at an early stage then this is the place to start your career. You will be given with opportunities to succeed, and it depends on you as to how you capitalize on those opportunities. As you move higher up the ladder, you are most likely left with an option of taking peoples' management tasks or your subordinates tasks (on top of ones tasks, without due acknowledgment of the efforts towards it) for the most part of your work, which also involves, concentrating on CMMI process related activities. If there is a concept of Developer Manager or Tech Manager who is basically into pure tech related activities then it would be great for those who want to mainly stick with technical cum business related work than on non-technical process improvement related work. Good that the company is moving towards Agile where a dedicated person is responsible for managing project related tasks - Scrum Master. Quality of new hires can be improved - people not necessarily from top Engineering schools - but with people who have better soft skills, manners, and floor etiquette - nobody is perfect when we talk about these aspects, but this is something HR can schedule training at organization level, on appropriate recurrences: I am sure they would have taken cognizance of these aspects by now....Read More
