You always feel good when working for a company with very popular and good brands in its portfolio. But it is a short-term kick! The company also has an excellent culture at the macro level when applied to all employees compared to peers.

Dislikes

Too much Red Tapeism leads to very low work satisfaction. Absolutely zero effort on employee career progression/promotions/skill development. The culture at the micro level is spoilt by lazy managers who only market themselves as good managers in front of VPs but do nothing for their reportees.

It's not appropriate place to work. Women are subjected for inappropriate behaviour ( ambition box is not allowing certain words to be written ) and when you reach HR, they force you to leave rather than addressing concerns. HR even changed what has been discussed , thankfully I had supportings and proofs, They make you leave when you report inappropriate behaviour Highly unsafe and unethical. In DIAGEO, the salary is good as compared to any other alco Breverage company. But the work life and personal life balance is very poor. There is more than 16 hours of work in a day. And in month ends it becomes 22/23 hours too in some days.

Its Brands. You feel good working for the company that company that own strong brands like JW, Smirnoff etc. Manageable work schedule except during the month ends and year ends. Structured processes resulting in less risk at job as processes are set strong.

- Bad talent management. - Packages are not great particularly for Chartered Accountants. - No career growth. Company culture restricts movement of talent across functions. - No career path as such. You need to keep looking for roles and network for next role within the company. In a way, you will end up networking more and contributing less. Great work wont give you great roles - specific to NAM Financial Controlling team: a) Very narrow view. Flexible trimmings - it’s basis shifts for whichever region you are supporting, wfh 2-3 days a week and a 5 day work week. Very employee friendly with good work like balance Managers are mostly great and very adjusting when it comes to leaves etc. Additionally, if you work hard, promotions and recognitions are almost guaranteed!
