- No decent projects. Most of them are fairly average and many of the times get scrapped after a few years. - BP relies heavily on contractors to do the heavy lifting hence as a developer mostly you have to work with Infosys, IBM folks who do not care anything about the kind of work they deliver and are a pain to work with. - Lot's of middle managers with no technical knowledge or clue of what they are doing. - No clarity on promotions....Read More

No or low promotion, its like you apply when there is need in same or other team go apply give an interview and get promoted (sometime new role open for 15 minutes and get closed). Not clear standard and visibility a 10 year exp guy can be Architect where other 16 year is not and no discussion of promotion even same education and work experience, bars are not defined, even 10 year exp guy coming from product based company has to join as Software engineer, from Lead role, so it will be 3-4 years to be Senior Engineer and another 4-5 year as Lead. US dominated culture, initially it was all good now getting typical captive unit culture all talk of saving lot of cost, no travel opportunity. If you are luckly or have close connect with US/UK or lucky diversity candidate you can get chance to travel. Indian leader are good but having very limited power in hand and typical cost cutting and more work related culture now. favoritism, lot of focus on diversity and LGBTQ, but at the end its all talk talk, just 5-10% diversity get very special treatment, with 11 year experience joins as Lead, where other candidate has to be 18+ exp. Value addition or quality work is missing in multiple teams. New or cutting edge tools and Technology available but no one will allow you to work or let you work on as this is not in our limits or not approved or access not given. after working for appx 3 years in bp initial got good bonus now it grown in big number in Pune so low benefits, and lot of incapable people recruited, seen good people going back to their org or Other country as underutilized....Read More

Indian management is worse, there is no promotion unless and untill your senior leaves. Few teams are good but few managers can call up at any time even after the shift is over. Don’t join. Bad work life balance. No specific work shift. Task timings are wired some needs to be performed in morning and some at night so you’ve to be available whole day for office. No time personal life. You can’t fall sick on month close. You will have to work if you’re not feeling well. Shift timings are just fake and not followed at all.
