Very comfortable senior management with no will power to execute change, They want to do big things but only verbally. All talk and no action ( at least at India site). Apart from an air conditioned bus service, they really did not have any other services, even the cafeteria barely had any food ( let alone have food options!).Peoplestick to being in Berkadia because they get paid handsomely minimum or no work. Compared to their peers in similar companies, they haven't been ever groomed to cater against pressures deeming them un-hirable. The company may boast of low turnover but that itself means people are comfortable and not willing to move out. Also since salaries and hikes are great, an employee gets paid much more than industry standards thus being un-hirable outside( golden handcuff strategy) on compensation grounds as well....Read More

They made it boring and time consuming . No one ever had any hurry or reason to wrap up their jobs. Once you hit the middle management layer, you stop having any sort of targets to be measured against!

Disappointing Interview Experience with D.E. Shaw

I recently interviewed with D.E. Shaw, and it turned out to be one of the most draining experiences I’ve had. The interviewer’s approach felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive, which made the entire process uncomfortable. At multiple points, the interviewer asked me to drop off the call, even when I tried asking basic questions about the designation, job description, and other details. After the interview, I found myself sitting there for a few minutes, trying to process what just happened. It left me questioning the overall tone and professionalism of the interview. Definitely not the experience I was expecting from such a well-known firm.
