Avalara was a good company to work for and so far the same image has been out there in the market. But a lot has changed after the company was sold. Company culture has become brutal and there is no job security at all. There is continuous firing, especially for tech roles. Career progression is really difficult and hikes are not good. Great work culture. I joined as a fresher, but Avalara never let me feel I am a fresher. Other folks and team mates are very welcoming and friendly. Great place to learn in this fast growing company and also great salary along with other incentives.

Dislikes

There is nothing special I came across worth mentioning here as a dislike. But, sometimes you are made to face challenges that are never solved in anytime past. So, lot of deep research and time is consumed searching for resource and help to solve that single complex issue.

HR policies are very friendly and employees oriented.

Dislikes

No long term vision at project level. Few project/team lead are more political than technology adoptive. No transparency of future vision and goals from mid-senior level lead/managers to maintain/lead a team at same page. Openly asking questions or guideline a mid senior level leaders/manageers are considered to be opposition team members.
