I used to like the work culture earlier that was more people oriented and they encouraged to take new initiatives, and were more empathetic. There were great manager who were leaders first....now 10 years down and especially post covid, people managers and processes are bad, demotivating. The good leaders have moved out. New, young,freshly out from B school managers don't really have idea to make an impact, they just want to handle a big team , do some maths around the weekly metrics..show things moving in papers because it looks good in their promo doc. Most of things are on paper and in reviews, never gets materialized as the manager moves and new one comes- repacks the same concoction in a new doc and presents a new plan and then again reorganizes the team, lets go of some people and processes.....the saga continues. None of the L6 manager in the new league wants to learn the process hands on by dirtying their hands. Now all that remains good to look forward to is the annual, year end gift. 2nd Best part are that there are enough leaves available - CL & SL 12 each in year and enough annual leaves . Poor people managers, poor growth opportunities and limited scope to try new things because a lot of alignment is required from the worldwide team for any India specific initiative. Empathy and being in vested in the people are things of the past.
