Updated 10 Oct 2020

Q1. What is first step when u see fire in electrical room

Ans.

The first step is to immediately cut off the power supply to the electrical room.

  • Locate the main power switch and turn it off

  • Call the fire department

  • Evacuate the area and close all doors behind you

  • Use a fire extinguisher if it is safe to do so

  • Do not use water to extinguish an electrical fire

Q2. What is the difference between ACB and VCB

Ans.

ACB and VCB are both circuit breakers used in electrical systems, but ACB is used for low voltage while VCB is used for high voltage.

  • ACB stands for Air Circuit Breaker while VCB stands for Vacuum Circuit Breaker

  • ACB is used for low voltage systems while VCB is used for high voltage systems

  • VCB is more efficient and requires less maintenance than ACB

  • ACB is cheaper than VCB

  • Examples of ACB include Schneider Electric's Masterpact and Siemens' Sentron

  • Examples of VCB include ABB's VD...read more

Q3. How to work igbt? Why we use igbt?

Ans.

IGBT stands for Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor. It is used as a switch in power electronics applications.

  • IGBT is a three-terminal power semiconductor device.

  • It combines the advantages of MOSFET and BJT.

  • IGBT is used in high power applications such as motor drives, power supplies, and renewable energy systems.

  • It is used to switch high voltage and high current loads.

  • IGBT is controlled by a gate signal which determines the on and off state of the device.

Q4. How to operation done DG set when power not came

Ans.

DG set is operated when there is no power supply.

  • Check fuel level and add if necessary

  • Check oil level and top up if required

  • Check battery and ensure it is fully charged

  • Start the DG set and switch over the load

  • Monitor the DG set for any issues

Q5. How to bypass the DG

Ans.

Bypassing the DG can be done by connecting the load directly to the mains supply.

  • Ensure that the load is compatible with the mains supply voltage and frequency.

  • Disconnect the DG from the load.

  • Connect the load directly to the mains supply.

  • Ensure that the mains supply is stable and reliable before connecting the load.

  • Consider the safety implications of bypassing the DG.

Q6. What are the transformers

Ans.

Transformers are electrical devices that transfer energy from one circuit to another through electromagnetic induction.

  • Transformers are used to increase or decrease voltage levels in electrical circuits.

  • They consist of two coils of wire wrapped around a magnetic core.

  • The coil that receives electrical energy is called the primary coil, while the coil that delivers energy is called the secondary coil.

  • Transformers are used in power distribution systems, electronic devices, and m...read more

Q7. How inverter work?

Ans.

Inverters convert DC power to AC power, allowing electronic devices to run on battery power.

  • Inverters use electronic components to convert DC power to AC power

  • They are commonly used in solar power systems and backup power supplies

  • Inverters can be pure sine wave or modified sine wave, with pure sine wave being more efficient and better for sensitive electronics
